Celebrating an outstanding achievement
Our MD received a prestigious award

The Lincolnshire Business Awards are always a highlight in the local calendar, a chance to celebrate the people and businesses doing great things across the county, and this year was certainly no different.
But for us at Ruddocks, the evening meant something extra, because, completely unbeknownst to him, our Managing Director, Paul Banton, was about to be named the winner of the Outstanding Contribution Award.
Behind the scenes, this had been months in the making. Working with event organisers and several people who know Paul well, we wanted to create something that genuinely reflected the impact he’s had, not just on our business, but across the Lincolnshire community.

A real legacy
Paul’s story isn’t just about the time he’s given to Ruddocks, it’s about what he’s built along the way.
He started his career at 16 as a trainee printer and joined Ruddocks in 1999. Over the last 27 years, he has helped shape the business and led us through huge change. Industry shifts, economic ups and downs, recessions and a global pandemic, always with a steady hand and a clear sense of direction.
But what stands out most isn’t just growth or longevity, it’s how he’s done it.
Creating a culture where people feel valued. Prioritising wellbeing and sustainability, pushing the business forward while staying grounded in doing the right thing, for clients, for the team, and for the wider community.

You do what you do, and you look after people because it’s the right thing to do… what else can you do in life but be good to people?
Paul Banton
Managing Director, Ruddocks
An impact far beyond Ruddocks
The Outstanding Contribution Award recognises more than just business success, and Paul’s influence stretches far beyond the workplace. Across the county, he’s known as a mentor, a supporter, and someone who shows up, whether that’s for businesses, charities, students or community initiatives.
He’s been a strong advocate for young people, particularly SEND students, helping create opportunities that genuinely change lives.
And time and again, people spoke about the same thing in the tributes on the night: not just what he’s achieved, but how he’s made people feel along the way. As one tribute put it, he’s “one of the most genuine leaders” they’ve worked with.
In true Paul fashion…
Perfect timing!
With this year marking Paul’s final chapter as Managing Director, the timing made the recognition brought by the Outstanding Contribution Award even more special.
Not just as a celebration of a career, but as a thank you, from Paul’s team and business, as well as the local community and the network of people who have all been impacted in some way.
And although it was quite tricky to keep this a secret from Paul, seeing that moment unfold was more than worth it!
