Greencore Group PLC is a leading producer of a diverse range of chilled, frozen, and convenience foods. Whilst some might not be familiar with the Greencore name, almost everyone will have eaten one of their products before. They supply every major supermarket in the UK and produce 779 million sandwiches and other food-to-go items, and 132 million chilled meals every year.

As a business that benefits from a culturally diverse workforce, the organisation sought to strengthen their internal communications to better reflect their inclusive values and drive up recruitment and retention. So in 2019, Ruddocks was appointed as their strategic creative production partner and tasked with transforming HR communications across the group to drive up recruitment and retention.

As soon as our collaboration began, we started developing a universal visual tone of voice, boosting inclusivity values and significantly improving communication across 35 sites. Our creative team designed a suite of more than 100 graphics and multicultural character illustrations to support image flexibility and enhance representation across all assets. The new creative direction carefully retained enough brand equity to ensure familiarity, whilst evolving away from conventionally corporate and towards a fresher, more relatable look and feel.

During our ongoing partnership, our team completes a wide range of projects and constantly explores innovative ways of giving every single member of their team a sense of belonging. Following our involvement in the design and production of their internal communication campaigns, Greencore saw a significant rise in staff retention and overall wellbeing.
