Team wellbeing.

Our team’s wellbeing and mental health have always been our top priority. Over time, we have implemented several initiatives to support, reward, and celebrate our people.

Flexibility & work-life balance

People’s lives don’t always fit neatly around the 9-5 working pattern anymore, and for many years, we have focused on building a flexible and inclusive environment for all our staff to accommodate individual circumstances.

We offer flexible working options, including hybrid or fully remote working, part-time hours, compressed hours, or adjusted start and finish times, and we know that our flexible approach is widely valued and a significant factor in our employee retention (as well as productivity)!

Recognising this, at the start of 2024, we also introduced the 9-day fortnight pattern. All our colleagues who wished to take part in this flexible working arrangement work their contracted hours over 9 days instead of the traditional 10.

This essentially gives our colleagues an extra day off every other week, which led to a significant boost in team wellbeing.

Our ongoing focus on supporting staff led to great changes over the years. People are happy and create a positive work environment, which is reflected in everything we do.

Nurturing health and team wellbeing

One of our top priorities at Ruddocks is focusing on the work-life balance of our team. To support this, we have a trained team of Mental Health First Aiders available on site.

In addition to this, we provide practical, emotional, and financial support for free, in partnership with The Printing Charity Helpline.

We also operate an open door policy, where we encourage feedback through regular one-to-one’s, management drop-in sessions, lunch briefings, and an annual staff survey.
