Creating the Scottish SPCA’s Cub Club

Inspiring the next generation of advocates.
In 2024, our creative team started working with the Scottish SPCA, Scotland’s leading animal rescue charity. One of the most rewarding milestones of our partnership was the creation of Cub Club, a brand new junior membership programme.
When we embarked on this collaboration, during the discovery phase, the goal became clear: to develop a visual identity distinctive from the parent brand.
Our creative team envisioned a fresh brand that doesn’t just “look good” but resonates emotionally with a young audience.

Developing the new Cub Club membership.
Great design begins with deep understanding. From initial brainstorming sessions that shaped the Cub Club logo and brand elements, to the creation of striking digital assets, we ensured every element captures the target audience’s attention.
Through visual storytelling, the bold and playful brand highlights the essential mission of the charity.
Specifically designed to spark curiosity and empathy in young animal lovers, Cub Club uses vibrant colours and engaging designs that convey the message in accessible and interactive ways.

Creative design and a modern approach.
The enhanced colour palette our team developed, as well as the texture usage and varied nature styling choices, allowed for flexibility as the creative requirements of Cub Club develop.
The Ruddocks team also produces and fulfils all the printed materials included in the membership packs. And through our marketing automation systems, we ensure a seamless flow of regular digital and physical communications whenever new supporters sign up to the programme.
As a result, Cub Club now represents more than a membership. It has become a movement to ensure the future of animal welfare in Scotland is in safe hands.

Ruddocks’ creative approach to Cub Club took a distinctive step away from the parent brand, resulting in a vibrant, accessible, and engaging identity.
