Transforming the international home of Scouting
Breathing new life into Gilwell Park.
Since 2010, we have been working with The Scout Association as their trusted creative production partner, supporting their purpose to improve young people’s lives, ‘helping them realise their full potential and take their place in society’.
In 2022, we had the privilege to be involved in a series of standout projects for the International Home of Scouting in Gilwell, London. These projects included the design and production of canvases and large-format boards for indoor exhibitions, as well as exterior signs for an outdoor heritage trail, and the illustration of the featured character – Buddy the Buffalo.
Additionally, the main office was repurposed to accommodate an exciting new area for flexible work and collaboration.

Bringing history to life: Interactive heritage hub and redesigned trail.
Working within the modern, fresh and inspiring Gilwell 100 brand, we designed the elements for the interactive heritage hub at Gilwell Park. We incorporated key facts about The Scouts’ history, activity stations, including how to tie a friendship knot, a leaf identification game, and a scaled-down version of the Gilwell Oak (the iconic oak tree which sits at the heart of Gilwell Park). We produced the original for the World Scout Jamboree held in the USA. Visitors could pen their Scouting memories and experiences on specially designed oak leaf-shaped sticky notes and add them to the trees to create a living memory board.

A personal connection.
Matt Hopkins, one of our Client Development Managers, was honoured to oversee these projects from start to finish. Following the completion of numerous projects for The Scout Association, he reflected on both his personal and professional experiences with the organisation:
“The Scout Association gave me so much in my youth, so I’m really proud to support their mission through my work. I even saved the jersey I used to wear, as a memory of being through the movement myself, so it’s particularly gratifying to see great projects like these come to life. Although I might need a bigger sweatshirt now!”
