Having joined Ruddocks as a fresh faced 16 year old apprentice in 1978, Allen has experienced an impressive 41 years of printing technologies and innovation.  From the single colour letterpress machines of the 1970s, which could take a day to get ready, through to the 5 colour plus coating lithographic press we use today which can achieve speeds of 15,000 impressions an hour; printing and Ruddocks are most definitely in his blood!

The litho press never stops and neither does Allen – as Litho Print Manager he specialises in creating efficiencies on the press, ensuring optimum production levels and minimum wastage meaning faster, higher quality print, increased capacity and less impact on the environment!

Allen is also something of a minor celebrity at Ruddocks, having played for Lincoln City, Boston United and also managing Lincoln United, taking them to the 1st round of the FA Cup in 1991, and he is particularly proud of playing in a match with 1966 world cup winner Martin Peters!
