We are excited to finally announce something we've been keeping secret for quite a while now… Ruddocks is on the path to becoming a Certified B Corporation!

But truth be told, we've been centring sustainable practices at the heart of our business for decades. In fact, taking care of our people and making a positive impact on our local community and the environment has always been at the top of our priority list.

The B Corp certification will only formalise our long-standing commitment to balancing profit with purpose, and also validate what we've already been doing up until this point in time.

And for our clients and partners, this move represents a guarantee that when you choose us for your print, design, or any of your creative production needs, you are working with an established family business that is dedicated to being a force for good.

For the last 10 months, we’ve been working on this behind the scenes. And now, we're thrilled to share more insights into the B Corp Certification process.

But first, what is a B Corp?

The B Corp Certification signifies that a business is meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

The accreditation was designed for companies that want to use business as a force for good, considering their impact on workers, the community, customers, and the environment.

Currently, there are over 2,500 Certified B Corps in the UK, and we are proud to be one of the first creative production agencies to pursue this certification!

What does the B Corp Verification Process mean for businesses?

Becoming a B Corp is a comprehensive and rigorous multi-step journey. It begins with the B Impact Assessment (BIA), an in-depth evaluation of a company's operations and business model.

To qualify, companies must achieve a verified score of at least 80. The process involves two main stages: Evaluation, led by B Lab UK, and Verification, led by B Lab Global, where an analyst independently assesses and verifies a company's positive impact.

We've already completed our BIA and are now in the verification stage, providing documentation and evidence to support our claims.

This journey is the next logical step for Ruddocks. We've always believed in doing business the right way, and this formal process gives us a framework to measure and improve our impact.

The B Corp Certification aligns our company's mission with a global movement of businesses working towards a more inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. We are incredibly excited to be taking this step, and our clients and partners are a key part of making it possible.

Finally, by becoming a B Corp, we will be joining a community of like-minded individuals and organisations, which will support our sustainable growth through meaningful collaborations.

We are very excited to be leading the way for sustainable and responsible practices in the creative production and print industries and we invite you to follow our progress as we work towards a better future, together.

If you would like to know more details about the B Corp process and how that can look for you, reach out to us and we'll be more than happy to advise and share our journey.
