The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance has reached its 25th birthday! The emergency service charity has been in operation, helping to save lives across the two counties since 1994 and during that time has helped over 20,000 injured patients; many of whom would not be here today without the ‘helping hands’ of the Air Ambulance crew.

We have worked with the charity for over 6 years on a number of awareness and fundraising campaigns and we were immensely proud to be commissioned to create their 25th anniversary mark and creative for the ‘In Safe Hands’ campaign.

The brief was to develop an iconic mark and design for the campaign roll out using the concept of ‘helping hands’ as a symbol, not only to celebrate and recognise those who have cared for so many over the last quarter of a century, but also as a thank you to those who support the charity as well as to raise awareness and increase donations.

We created a striking and versatile mark (which considered how we incorporated sponsors and past patients) to feature on the tail of their ambucopter. This was unveiled at their special celebratory event hosted earlier this month, together with a reversed-out design to use as the campaign logo on all their marketing materials.

The challenge was to create a mark that would work across a number of very different deliverables from the tail of the ambucopter through to a letterhead. We are delighted with the outcome and look forward to continuing our support of the campaign over the coming months.

The logo was only one element, a significant part of our work on the campaign involved creating digital and printed assets to help meet objectives around generating funds through sponsorship and donations. Working with a local web development agency we designed and launched the campaign website and developed a suite of sponsorship marketing materials to support the roll out.

The campaign has so far attracted sponsorship from some leading brands such as Total and Brewin Dolphin and there will be further, celebrations, fundraising and awareness events to boost donations throughout the year.
